Windowcrafters Partners with Habitat for Humanity on the 2026 Carter Work Project

Windowcrafters has quietly supplied windows to Habitat for Humanity Atlanta for years, helping families achieve their dream of home ownership. Today, we are proud to take this commitment even further as an official Dream Maker Sponsor of the 2026 Jimmy and Rosalynn Carter Work Project in Atlanta. Through this incredible initiative, Windowcrafters is supplying over 300 custom-made windows for  24 new Habitat for Humanity homes at Langston Park in Sylvan Hills. Two of three production phases have already been delivered, and the 3rd is currently being manufactured at our factory in Tucker, Georgia.

What Is the Carter Work Project?

The Jimmy and Rosalynn Carter Work Project is one of the largest Habitat for Humanity building events in the world. It has been running for 40 years. Over that time, more than 110,000 volunteers have helped build, renovate, or repair over 4,400 homes in 14 countries.

The project was created to reflect the vision of former U.S. President Jimmy Carter and former First Lady Rosalynn Carter. Each year, it brings attention to the need for safe, affordable housing and shows what is possible when volunteers, sponsors, and communities work together.

This year, the project returns to Atlanta for the first time since 1988. From May 3 through May 8, 2026, volunteers and partners will come together to build 24 new single-family homes and townhomes in just five days.

The build is happening at Langston Park. That is Atlanta Habitat for Humanity’s newest community, located in the historic Sylvan Hills neighborhood. These homes will give families a stable, affordable place to live with access to MARTA, the Atlanta Beltline, and nearby parks.

Why Did Windowcrafters Get Involved?

Windowcrafters manufactures vinyl windows at its factory in Tucker, Georgia. The company has been doing this for over 45 years. When the Carter Work Project announced it was coming back to Atlanta, being part of it made sense. Tucker is less than 20 miles from the Langston Park build site.

Windowcrafters has informally supplied windows to Atlanta Habitat for Humanity for years, never doing this for recognition, just simply to help make our community stronger. With this strong working relationship in place, it made sense when we were asked to support this significant undertaking as a corporate sponsor.

Going from supplier to Dream Maker sponsor is a natural step for a company that has been part of these builds behind the scenes for a long time. The relationship was already there. The sponsorship makes it official.

Being a local, factory-direct manufacturer means the windows going into these homes are built nearby. They are not shipped in from out of state. They are made by people who live and work in the same metro area where the homes are going up.

That matters for a project like this.

What Does Dream Maker Sponsorship Mean?

The Carter Work Project offers several levels of corporate sponsorship. Dream Maker is the $100,000 level. It includes volunteer build opportunities, reserved seats at the opening ceremony, and involvement throughout the build week.

For Windowcrafters, the sponsorship includes something most sponsors do not bring to the table. Windowcrafters is not just funding the project. It is manufacturing 300 + windows at its factory in Tucker, GA, and providing 24 new homes with low-maintenance, energy-efficient vinyl windows.

Each set of 900 Series Single Hung vinyl windows is being built to match the specific measurements of the homes in the Langston Park development, and there are a variety of home styles throughout the new neighborhood. Two of three production phases are already complete. The final phase is underway now. By the time the build week starts in May, the windows will be ready.

What Does This Build Look Like?

Twenty-four homes will be built across five build days. Volunteers from corporate sponsors, community partners, and Habitat affiliates will work side by side. The goal is to kick off construction at Langston Park and get these homes framed, roofed, and enclosed during the week.

Langston Park is a master-planned community. It includes single-family homes and townhomes. For Habitat for Humanity Atlanta, it is the first time they have included townhome-style living in one of their developments. The neighborhood is designed for long-term stability, with walkable access to transit and green space.

A build week like this takes coordination. Materials need to arrive on time. Volunteers need to know where to go and what to do. Sponsors provide the funding and products that make the week possible. Every piece has to come together on schedule for 24 homes to go up in five days.

Why Does Local Manufacturing Matter for a Project Like This?

This is where Windowcrafters excels, and we truly shine! With our Tucker, Georgia, factory, the windows are built locally, and the project is streamlined. Logistics are easier to manage; there is no waiting on shipments from across the country, and if a window breaks or a measurement changes, it can be taken care of quickly. That is something a national supplier cannot offer on a project with a fixed build schedule.

For a build this size, that kind of flexibility is more than helpful; it is an integral part of the project’s overall success! Twenty-four homes mean a lot of windows. Each one needs to be the right size, the right glass package, and ready when the build crew needs it. When the manufacturer is local, communication is simpler, and problems get solved faster.

Windowcrafters has been managing projects of this scale for decades. The windows going into the Langston Park homes are the 900 Series Single Hung. That is the same line trusted by contractors and homeowners across metro Atlanta for its performance and durability. Every home will have this high-quality, low-maintenance, energy-efficient window.

What Does This Mean for the Atlanta Community?

Affordable housing in Atlanta is a real and growing need. The Carter Work Project puts a spotlight on that, but the work does not stop after the build week ends. Langston Park will continue to grow as more homes are completed over time.

For the families who will live in these homes, this is about more than a building. It is about having a stable place to raise a family, build equity, and put down roots in a neighborhood with real infrastructure around it. Sylvan Hills is a historic Atlanta neighborhood, and Langston Park is designed to strengthen it for the long term.

Windowcrafters is based in Tucker. The team lives and works in metro Atlanta. Supporting a project that creates stable housing for families in the same area is a direct way to give back to the community where the company has operated for more than four decades.

“We have been supplying windows to Atlanta Habitat for Humanity for years,” said Sarah Bailey, Sales Director at Windowcrafters. “And we are excited to make a donation of this scale to the Carter Project.”
